    The supper spot of every Singaporean student. Baskets of dumplings, custard buns and fried mee suah cake, long after midnight.

    💡 Tick the paper order sheet. Get mee suah kueh and salted egg custard buns. The official page still lists Tuesdays as closed; check.

    Order: Soy milk, you tiao, salty beancurd

    Hot soy milk, fried dough and savoury beancurd under fluorescent lights. At 3am it feels like the correct decision.

    💡 Order the salty beancurd and a you tiao to dunk. Closed on Mondays. Take a taxi; trains stop around midnight.

  3. 3. Geylang Lor 9 Fresh Frog Porridge

    Order: Claypot frog porridge

    Daily 11:00–04:00

    Tender frog in a sticky dried-chilli sauce, spooned over smooth white porridge. It tastes like very good chicken. Be brave.

    💡 Order the dried chilli (kung pao) frog and mix the sauce into the porridge. Add the barbecued stingray if you are a group.

  4. 4. Al-Azhar Eating Restaurant

    A never-closing Indian-Muslim eatery with a menu as long as a white paper. Everyone ends up here after something.

    💡 Order cheese prata, maggi goreng and a teh tarik. Ask staff about halal certification; we did not see it stated on their site.

  5. 5. Srisun Express (Serangoon Garden)

    A 24-hour prata house across from the famous Chomp Chomp hawker centre. When Chomp Chomp closes, the night moves here.

    💡 Try a tissue prata (a sweet, paper-thin cone) for the table. The chain's own site says it is halal-certified.

  6. 6. The Ramen Stall

    Ramen in chicken and beef broths, with sushi and grills, on the late end of North Bridge Road. Useful when cravings hit at 12:30.

    💡 Last order is 30 minutes before closing. The volcano ramen is properly spicy. Good for mixed groups with halal needs.

    The cheapest hot meal inside Marina Bay Sands, and the only one at 4am. A handful of stalls keep going all night.

    💡 Overnight, expect the drinks, bak kut teh, ban mian and yong tau foo stalls. Avoid 12:00–14:00 on conference days.

    The prata chain known for odd, good ideas, such as a murtabak with mozzarella. This branch never closes.

    💡 Only this branch is 24 hours; the others shut by midnight. Try the Plaster Blaster (prata with egg and hollandaise).

    A cast-iron food hall in the middle of the financial district, open all night. Satay smoke outside, eighty-odd stalls inside.

    💡 Not every stall trades overnight. Satay Street runs in the evening; go before midnight for the full line-up.

    A grown-up hotel bar with a menu printed like a magazine and drinks that justify the fuss. Lively, never stiff.

    💡 Book, or come before 19:00 for walk-in seats at the bar. Sunday to Tuesday it closes at midnight sharp.

    Cheap-ish drinks, loud singing and no dress code, in a district of suits. Where bartenders go after their own shifts.

    💡 Closed on Mondays. It fills up after midnight. Do not expect a cocktail list; do expect someone singing Bon Jovi.

    The bar on the 'boat' on top of the hotel, 57 floors up. The view is the entire point, and it delivers.

    💡 There is a cover charge in the evening that includes a drink. Dress smart; no flip-flops. Go at sunset, stay for the lights.

    Rum, mojitos and a band that makes even conference people dance. Easy to walk into, hard to leave before 2am.

    💡 The band gets going after 22:00. Come in a group and stand near the stage. No need to book on weeknights.

    A neighbourhood bar where local bands play covers upstairs and regulars know the staff. Low stakes, good night.

    💡 Live music is on the upper floor. Happy hour runs until 21:00. Order the wings. It closes at midnight Monday to Wednesday.

    Built in Ireland and shipped over in 1995. Live music, football on the screens and a crowd from the banks next door.

    💡 Open past midnight every night. Monday is quiz night. Reservations are taken only up to 19:00.

    A Malaysian-style zi char shop that restaurant chefs treat as their canteen. Crisp-bottomed bee hoon and peppery crab.

    💡 Michelin's own write-up says it opens till 3am, but we found no official hours page, so call ahead. Order the san lou bee hoon.

    Watery rice porridge with braised duck, steamed fish, salted egg and whatever else you point at. The gentle kind of supper.

    💡 Listed as open until about 5am in Michelin's supper guide; no official page, so check. Ask the total before you sit down.

    Order: Gin and champagne cocktails

    A huge 1920s-style hall with a three-storey tower of gin. It looks like a film set and people behave accordingly.

    💡 Past midnight on Friday and Saturday only. After 17:00 there is a dress code: no shorts or slippers. Book ahead.
