Rooftops and Views
Fourteen ways to look down on Singapore, from free to fancy.
Singapore looks best from above and around sunset, which lands at about 6.50pm in October. Here are the rooftop bars worth the lift ride and the free viewpoints locals actually use, including a public housing skybridge that outclasses most hotel bars.

1. Pinnacle@Duxton Skybridge
Sight · Tanjong Pagar · $ · MRT Outram Park (EW16/NE3/TE17)
Hours unknown, check before you go
A half-kilometre garden bridge linking seven housing blocks, 50 floors up. Port, shophouses and skyline for the price of a kopi.
💡 Entry is S$6, paid by card at the kiosk at Block 1G, and public visitors are capped each day. Go for sunset but arrive early.
2. Marina Barrage
Sight · Marina South · Free · MRT Gardens by the Bay (TE22)
Open 24 hours (gallery 09:00–18:00, closed Tue)
A dam with a lawn on top the size of four football fields. Kites, picnics and the full skyline.
💡 Bring a mat and snacks for sunset. It is a breezy walk from the Gardens by the Bay Supertrees.
3. Henderson Waves
Nature · Southern Ridges · Free · MRT Telok Blangah (CC28)
Hours unknown, check before you go
A rippling timber bridge linking two jungle hills, 274 metres long. The city's best free walk.
💡 Start from Mount Faber and walk west. It is lit from 19:00 and brutal at midday, so pick your hour.
4. Faber Point, Mount Faber
Nature · Mount Faber · Free · MRT HarbourFront (NE1/CC29)
Hours unknown, check before you go
The top of a forested hill with a 360-degree platform: container port, cable cars gliding past and the southern islands beyond.
💡 Pair it with Henderson Waves, a 15-minute ridge walk away. A taxi up and a stroll down saves your legs in the humidity.
5. Esplanade Roof Terrace
Sight · Marina Bay · Free · MRT Esplanade (CC3)
Hours unknown, check before you go
A quiet public garden on the roof of the arts centre, wedged between its two spiky domes, looking straight across the bay.
💡 Take the lift to Level 4 and bring your own drink. You get the bay-bar view with none of the minimum spend.
6. CapitaSpring Sky Garden
Sight · Raffles Place · Free · MRT Raffles Place (EW14/NS26)
Hours unknown, check before you go
An urban farm and viewing deck on top of an office tower, one of the highest public spots in the city, and it costs nothing.
💡 Public access is on weekdays only, in morning and afternoon windows with a midday break. Check the day's slots before you go.
7. SkyPark Observation Deck, Marina Bay Sands
Sight · Marina Bay · $$$ · MRT Bayfront (CC34/DT16)
Daily 09:30–22:00 (last entry 21:30)
The deck on top of that famous building. Whole skyline on one side, the Gardens and the sea on the other.
💡 Book a slot just before sunset and linger. The infinity pool is for hotel guests only, so skip the swimwear.
8. CÉ LA VI Singapore
Order: Rooftop drinks
Nightlife · Marina Bay · $$$ · MRT Bayfront (CC34/DT16)
Club Lounge: Mon–Tue 12:00–01:00; Wed, Fri, Sat 12:00–04:00; Thu & Sun 12:00–03:00. SkyBar: daily 16:00–01:00
The bar on the 'boat' on top of the hotel, 57 floors up. The view is the entire point, and it delivers.
💡 There is a cover charge in the evening that includes a drink. Dress smart; no flip-flops. Go at sunset, stay for the lights.
9. LeVeL33
Nightlife · Marina Bay · $$$ · MRT Downtown (DT17)
Hours unknown, check before you go
Copper tanks inside, the whole of Marina Bay outside. The beer is brewed on site, which at this height is mildly absurd.
💡 Book a terrace table before sunset. Order the tasting paddle and work through the range while the lights come on.
10. Lantern
Nightlife · Marina Bay · $$$ · MRT Raffles Place (EW14/NS26)
Sun–Thu 15:00–01:00; Fri–Sat & eve of public holidays 15:00–02:00
A hotel rooftop by the pool where Marina Bay Sands is the view rather than the venue. Calm, polished, quietly expensive.
💡 Last drink orders are 00:15 Sun–Thu and 01:15 Fri–Sat. It is open-air, so have a rain plan in October.
11. Mr Stork
Nightlife · Bugis · $$$ · MRT Bugis (EW12/DT14)
Hours unknown, check before you go
A circular garden bar on the 39th floor with teepee huts and views all the way round, from Kampong Gelam's dome to Marina Bay.
💡 It's open-air, so a rainy evening means a rethink. The teepees go first; walk the full loop before you pick a seat.
12. SKAI Bar
Nightlife · Civic District · $$$ · MRT City Hall (EW13/NS25)
Hours unknown, check before you go
The highest of the lot: floor-to-ceiling glass 70 storeys up, with the Padang, the bay and half of Indonesia spread out below.
💡 It's indoors and air-conditioned, which makes it the rainy-night pick. No slippers or sleeveless tops; ask for a window table.
13. Singapore Flyer
Sight · Marina Bay · $$$ · MRT Promenade (CC4/DT15)
Daily 10:00–22:00 (last entry 21:30)
A 165-metre wheel with a slow half-hour lap. Air-conditioned capsule, zero effort, and the view does the talking.
💡 Board about 20 minutes before sunset to get day and night views in one lap.
14. OCBC Skyway
Sight · Gardens by the Bay · $$ · MRT Gardens by the Bay (TE22)
Hours unknown, check before you go
A curving aerial bridge 22 metres up between two Supertrees. Not the highest view in town, but easily the strangest.
💡 Tickets are timed and sell out near the evening light shows, and it closes in rain or lightning. Late afternoon is the easy win.
